Ball-by-Ball Commentary

Match State: Match start scheduled for 14.30 local time (9 am GMT)

       Good Afternoon!
Welcome to CricInfo's Exclusive Live Coverage of the second One-Day
        International between India and Zimbabwe.
We are here at the Punjab Cricket Association Stadium in Mohali.
There were a few scares last night, it was pouring down with the
special effects of lightning and thunder.
And that was yesterday. Today it is quite a different story - clear
blue skies on a very fine day here at this beautiful venue.
Zimbabwe lead the five-match series 1-0, after winning the thriller
        at Faridabad.
A lot of people would be looking forward to see the new sensation
Douglas Marillier go out and play those unique shots.
The pitch looks a beauty to bat on. There is a few bit of grass
rolled in to this, it should help to hold the pitch together.
'reckon it is going to be a high scoring encounter.
India has played four ODI matches at Mohali, winning three and
losing one against Pakistan, which was the last match India played
        at this venue.
Since it rained last night, there should be some help for the
seamers in the first half hour or so.
It is shining so bright right now. There is a big buzz around the
stadium, it is filling up very fast.
The Toss: Sourav Ganguly won the toss, elects to bat first.

Match State: Innings Break

Thats the end of the Indian innings
After winning the toss, India have ended up with a mammoth total
        here at Mohali
They started very well with Mongia and Ganguly firing all
cylinders, followed by a rather slow Laxman-fifty two
Even Dravid who came in after that scored a 66 off just 59
deliveries and was unbeaten till the end - he is usually
criticized for slow tortoise like batting!
Ganguly made a brilliant 86 at more than a run a ball and Mongia
contributed a beautiful 45 at the top of the innings
The Zimbabwean bowlers - nothing much to tell about them, all of
them were expensive today - you exopect it that way when you give
away 319 runs in the alloted 50 overs
Extras ruined them too - 34 in all - 25 wides in those 34 runs
They might lose an over or two too for slow over rate
This is going to be a tough ask in trying to reach that 320 mark
        under the lights
Get back to us at 1840 hrs IST (1310 hrs. GMT) for more exciting

The Drinks trolley is in the field now
The Indians should have been expecting it for a long time
They deserve a lot of drinks for the way they have run chasing the

Of course, friend and campbell too deserve the drinks too for the
way they have tormented the Indian fielders
Perhaps Ganguly can drink something which would help to go closer
to the balls that are being hit

Indians have done it here and have levelled the series 1-1
The batsmen got this game for India really
after winning the toss, mounted up a huge score of 319 in the 50
        overs
To score 320 chasing is always going to be a huge ask - infact , it
would have been a world record if they had got to 320!
Ganguly, Mongia, Laxman and Dravid - all contributed richly in the
        absence on Sehwag and Tendulkar
When Zim cam back to bat they were penalised one over for bowling
        their 50 overs slowly
They had to make the 320 in 49 overs and they managed only 255 in
43.3 overs losing all the wickets
India picked up Ebrahim early, after that Campbell and Friend
        frustrated them
They added 134 for the 2nd wicket, before Friend steppd out to
Harbhajan and was stumped by the keeper ratra and Harbhajan struck
soon trapping Campbell plumb in front
Zim lost their way from this point and never looked to be in the
race with Andy Flower too having a thigh muscle strain
Carlisle showed some resistance scoring a good 25, but he was
removed by Agarkar who returned for his second spell
Ganguly's surprise package today was Dinesh Mongia
He picked up three wickets for just 31 runs off 6 overs - Andy
Flower, Douglas Marillier and Craig Wishart
Zimbabwe's hero 2 days ago didnt quite click today as he fell for
        just 2 runs
So, the series is live now with the scoreline being 1-1
