After a strong batting performance where the hosts posted 282 in 50
overs the South Africans knocked out India for 236.
If you're an Indian fan there's not much to look for in the
scorecard
Sachin Tendulkar played like a dream for a bit, scoring 37.
Ganguly led the way for his side, stroking 85 before being bogged
down and dismissed
Rahul Dravid, struggling to get the ball off the square initially
got tied up in knots but recovered after the game was very much a
lost cause and ended unbeaten on 71.
The great Indian unfulfilled all-round hope Ajit Agarkar made 16,
and was the only man other than the 'big three' to get to double
figures.
Yuvraj Singh (3), Shiv Sunder Das (2), Virender Sehwag (4) and Deep
Dasgupta (0) showed the Indian youth brigade in less than glowing
light. Perhaps the selectors will think now about recalling the
veteran one-day ace Robin Singh?
The South Africans however played superbly, all credit to the way
they batted, bowled and fielded.
The Man of the Match award somwhat curiously has been presented to
Sourav Ganguly for his innings of 85.
