For the League Matches, the Team scoring the highest number of points within their group will qualify for the Finals. Winning team will be awarded two points and losing team no points. In case the match is not played for a minimum of 25 overs, each team willbe awarded one point. In case of Draw/Tie, one point will be awarded to each team.
Matches will be played for 50 overs as per Rules for Domestic BCCI Tournaments.
The Academy Committee during its meeting held at Mumbai on 4th May 2001discussed a proposal for conducting on Inter Zonal Academy Cricket Tournament. During the deliberations, the Committeeapproved the conduct of tournament at the end of the ZCA training. Accordingly the Sub Committee detailed to finalise the fornmat of the tournament from 28th June 2001 onwards as per details given in the succeeding paragraphs.
Teams: A Total of six teams will participate ie one team each from five zonal academies and One combined team comprising of players selected from the remaining players of all the zonal academies. On termination of the finals, one combined team of all the Zonal Cricket Academies will beselected to play a one off match against the National Cricket Academy.
Composition & Selection Zonal Cricket Academy:
Each team will consist 13 players, Head of Coaching/Coach, who will also act as Manager.
The sixth team of ZCA comprising of the balance of players will be selected by the Director, NCA based on the recommendations of all the Heads of Coaching and the Junior National Coach. The Coach of the combined team will also be selected by the Director, NCA.
Selection of the Combined team of all the ZCA for the matches against NCA will be selected at Bangalore by the Heads of Coaching/Coach of all the ZCAs and Junior National Coach, who will also act as Chairman. The Director of the Academy will be the convener.

Format: The format of the tournament will be as under
Six teams will be divided into two groups as under and play league matches

South Zone Cricket Academy
East Zone Cricket Academy
Combined XI Cricket Academy
Group B
North Zone Cricket Academy
West Zone Cricket Academy
Central Zone Cricket Academy
The finals of the ZCAs tournament will be played between the winner of
Group A and Group B
