Rules and Regulations

1.Hours of Play:

9:30 a.m to 12:00 noonFirst Session
12:00 noon to 12:40 pmLunch Break
12:40 pm to 2:40 pm Second Session
2:40 pm to 3:00 pmTea Break
3:00 pm to 5:00 pmThird Session

There will be one drink interval in each session of the game. No Drinks is permitted during last hour of the game, even for batsman

2.Matches in League stage will be played on League basis with two days duration of six and a half hours of play each day. The first innings will be restricted to 75 overs. There will be no restriction in the second innings and declaration is permissible during second innings.

Two Teams from each Group securing highest number of points will qualify for knockout.

3.The Semi Finals and Final will be on first innings if two innings are not completed. Even if the first innings of both tearm are not completed within the stipulated overs (or the match is abandoned without a ball being bowled) the match will be decided by a spin of coin except in the finals. If the result is not obtained within three days of the finals, the trophy shall be shared by the Finalists.

4. Award of Points:

    At League stage, the team getting out right victory will be awarded eight points. In case two innings are not completed, the team getting first innings lead will be awarded five points and the other team two points.

    In case, even one innings is not completed in the stipulated two days, the match will be treated as a draw and the teams will be awarded two points each.

    If there is tie on first innings (second innings not being completed), the teams will be Awarded three points each.

    If a match is abandoned without a ball being bowled, the match will be treated as a draw (two points each).

    At the end of league stage, if the teams secure equal number of points, the method of net run rate will apply.

5. Over Rate and Penalty:

    Each team shall bowl a minimum of 15 overs per hour of play on average. For each over bowled short, penalty will be twice the run rate obtained by the batting side and the same will be added to the total of the batting side at the end of innings.

    At the end of penalty runs calculated, fraction of a run to be ignored.

    Fractions are to be ignored in all calculations regarding the number of overs. Fractions of an over bowled shall be reckoned as a full over.

6. The Pitch, Ground, Weather and Light for Play:

    The Umpires shall be the sole judges in respect of the above.

7. Calling of Wides:

    Umpires are instructed to apply a very strict and consistend interpretation in regard to this law, in order to prevent negative bowling wide of the wicket.

    Any off side or led side delivery which in the opinion of the Umpires does not give the batsman a reasonable opportunity to score shall be called Wide

    The above provision do not apply if the Striker makes contact with the ball. A penalty of one run for wide will be scored plus other runs which are scored or awarded also shall be scored as wides

8. Penalty for No Ball:

    If an Umpire calls and signals any type of a No Ball, the penalty of one run of No Ball will be scored as well as any run scored or awarded will be added to the penalty of NO Ball.

9.A new ball can be taken after 50 overs on matting wicket and after 80 overs on turf wicket.

10.Use of spiked shoes by bowlers on matting wicket is not permitted.

11.On turf wicket, the whole pitch shall be coverd as per existing rules.

12.All MCC Rules (as amended) from time to time will be followed, 15 mandatory overs rules will be followed in the last hour of the match.
