So far there has been no play possible on the 2nd Day at Trent
Bridge. It is still raining - the umpires will inspect at 4.30pm
but it looks likely play will be abandoned for the day.
Update at 1610 BST (1510 GMT) - the rain has stopped, and the grey
clouds over the pavilion seem to be heading away. The groundstaff
are attempting to remove the water on the covers.

The wheeled covers are still on, and the runups still covered.

The sky is bright over the Radcliffe Road end, brightish over the
pavilion and murky to the right of the Radcliffe Road

than that. All the tarpaulin covers (except those on the runups)
have now been removed, there is just a wheeled cover on the wicket
1702 BST (1602 GMT) - wheeled covers coming off the square. It
looks visibly brighter over the pavilion.
The mower is being brought over towards the pitch. Still no
official news about the result of the inspection.
1705 BST (1605 GMT) - runups covers are being removed. Pitched

Eight groundstaff are helping to roll up one of the runup covers -
it all vanishes into a green cover that's no more than 4' high.

There was a rather large lake earlier in the day.
The ground is very soft towards the edges of the outfield.
It is quite muddy in some areas and there's a danger of people
slipping.
Waterhogs and squeegees are being use by the groundstaff.
The waterhogs have wheels lined with sponge, they roll up and down
the outfield and collect water in a tank, then they are driven to
the edge of the ground and the water is pumped out into a drain.
Earlier, there was 4 inches of water on 50% of the outfield.
An inch and a half of rain fell in about 3 hours, with
thunderstorms and hailstones overnight.
The square is well covered and unaffected.
The groundstaff are optimistic play could start shortly after lunch
as long as there is no more rain.

Goodwin: We had to turn it around after Lord's. Came out to be
positive and prove to the England public we can play.
