Result: Bangladesh won by 53 runs
Brilliant bowling by veteran left-arm spinner Enamul Haque guided Bangladesh to a comfortable 53-run win against MCC Young Cricketers in a limited-over match at the Wilf Slack Memorial ground in Finchley, London on Wednesday.
Enamul, one of the experienced all-rounders in the touring side, claimed five wickets for 38 runs as the younger selection of the famous Marylebone Cricket Club, chasing a fighting Bangladesh total of 233 in 50 overs, were shot out for 180 with six overs still to be bowled.
Enamul was ably helped by his vice-captain Aminul Islam who captured two wickets for 22 runs. Besides, new-ball bowler Hasibul and occasional Azam Iqbal took one wicket apiece.
Earlier, the Bangladesh total of 233 (which we yesterday wrote 238 as obtained from a careless BCB official) was built around a half-century by right-hand opener Azam Iqbal who scored highest 51.
Middle-orders Khaled Mahmud, who chipped in with a swashbuckling 49 off 43 balls, and skipper Akram Khan (43) were the other notable run-getters.
The visitors were scheduled to meet Warwickshire County Cricket Club in a limited-over match yesterday.
