The Bangladesh cricket team will leave for United Kingdom on June 2 on a 50-day tour.

Although, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is yet to announce the team, it was learnt that it will be a 17-member squad. Bangladesh will play a series of limited-over and three-day matches against different selections of Ireland, Scotland and England.

Although Bangladesh will play their first tour match in Belfast on June 7 against an Irish selection, the BCB is yet to finalise the tour schedule.

The BCB is likely to announce the UK-bound squad after its EC meeting on May 27. It was, however, gathered that the roster includes 12 of the 14 players now participating in the Coca-Cola Triangular series in India and five from the Bangladesh 'A' team that will play three one-day matches against Singapore later this month. The tour has been arranged as part of Bangladesh's preparation for the 1999 England World Cup.
