• The match was scheduled to be played (after already having been postponed) on June 4, 5, 6, but took place on the above dates only after all other matches had been completed. Colombo Cricket Club obtained the points necessary, against weakened opposition, to win the tournament. Bloomfield Cricket and Athletic Club protested to the Board that Colombo Cricket Club had an unfair advantage and several months later (just prior to the start of the 1999-2000 competition) the Board upheld the protest. The points in this game were annuled and Bloomfield Cricket and Athletic Club declared winners of the tournament
