The Entire first day's play was washed out due to rain and play started on day two at 3.00 p.m to 4:44 p.m (104 minutes). Andhra who were put in to bat first appealed for bad light after scoring 83 for 2 wkts in 24.1 overs.

Andhra openers Md. Taheer Hussian and debutant Merala Seshu Kumar put on 69 runs in 19.1 overs. At 83 for 2 Andhra's skipper Y. Venugopal Rao appealed for bad light, when they should have gone for the runs to boost their run quotient which was behind Hyderabad.

When play resumed on the final day Hyderabad took control and stopped the run flow and have conceded ony 90 runs in 38.1 overs till lunch (135 mts). From 173-6 the seventh wicket pair of Kumara Swamy and Mohd. Faiq added an unbroken 63 runs in 60 mts. and applied closure of its innings at 236 for 6 wickets.

Requiring 237 runs to overtake in a minimum of 38 overs, Anirudh Dixit was out LBW to Md. Khan. The second wicket pair of opener Avinash Pai and Debutant Godugu Nityanand went through some anxious moments earlier in the innings to put on a well made 112 runs unbroken 2nd wicket partnership in 145 mts. and off 44.4 overs to seal Andhra's entry into Knockout.

Hyderabad's net run aggregate (runs scored 1143 and lost 23 wickets, quotient 53.956 and (runs conceded 1410 and claimed 54 wickets, quotient 26.111 (Net Difference being +27.845) as against Andhra's run aggregate (runs scored 1143 and lost 35 wickets, quotient 32.657 and (runs conceded 1134 and wickets claimed 37, quotient 30.648 (Net difference being +2.009). At start of Tamil Nadu - Karnataka encounter, Tamil Nadu's run quotient in batting being +35.777 and bowling +27.743 (Net difference +8.034) with 17 points. Karnataka batting quotient is 31.903 and bowling run quotient being 37.071 (Net difference being -5.168) with 10 points. Goa with 11 points has (Net quotient of -15.375) and Kerala with 8 points with (Net run quotient of -18.101).
