AXA Equity & Law League SOMERSET v LEICS: Weston S Mare
Nick  Folland  hit  a maiden Sunday century to save Somerset from
their eighth successive AXA League defeat.
Folland hit an unbeaten 107 as Somerset romped to a  96  run  win
over Leicestershire at Weston Super Mare after reaching 240 8.
Mark  Lathwell  also  hit  75  before  Dutchman  Andre Van Troost
claimed 3 17 as Leicestershire slumped to 144  all  out  in  just
41.3 overs.

AXA Equity & Law League WORCS v KENT: New Road
Title  chasing Kent snatched their tenth win of the season on the
tightest of faster scoring calculations in a rain  hit  match  at
New Road.
Worcs  made  186 9 at 3.72 runs per over thanks to a fighting in-
nings of 35 in 59 balls by 'keeper Steve Rhodes.
But Kent edged victory by reaching 143 5   boosting their rate to
3.76  by  scoring  two  runs off the last ball before the weather
closed in.

AXA Equity & Law League GLOUCS v ESSEX: Bristol
Essex survived a mid order collapse to edge a three wicket victo-
ry with five balls remaining at Bristol.
John  Stephenson  took  three wickets to help bowl Gloucs out for
135 and then shared in a 59 run opening stand with Nick Knight to
put victory in sight.
But  Essex  then lost five wickets for 21 runs in 12 overs before
England reject Mark Ilott hammered an unbeaten 17 to  clinch  the
nail biting triumph.

AXA Equity & Law League LANCS v YORKS: Old Trafford
Pakistani  all  rounder  Wasim Akram helped Lancashire to a three
wicket Roses clash triumph at Old Trafford.
Wasim hammered an unbeaten 51 to steer  Lancs  to  their  victory
target  of  174  7 with seven balls remaining in a rain hit match
reduced to 45 overs.
He rescued Lancashire at 98 4 in reply to Yorkshire's 173  9  and
shared  a vital 49 run fifth wicket stand with skipper Neil Fair-
brother. 

AXA Equity & Law League DURHAM v WARWICKS: Darlington
Anderson Cummins   destroyed Warwickshire to seal Durham's  third
successive Sunday League triumph.
Cummins  bagged 4 8 in 12 balls to restrict Warwicks to 195 after
Asif Din rescued his side from 46 3 by hitting 66 off 98 balls.
Wayne Larkins teamed up with Neil Smith in a 69 run opening stand
but  it was left to skipper David Graveney to steer them to their
victory target of 197 8.

AXA Equity & Law League DERBYS v SURREY: Ilkeston
Derbyshire were made to pay for letting David Ward off  the  hook
as Surrey stole a five wicket victory at Ilkeston.
Derbys  looked  on  course for victory in a rain reduced 46 overs
clash with Surrey on 16 3 chasing a victory target of 202.
But Ward  who scored an unbeaten 81 was dropped by Ole  Mortensen
on  eight  and went on to help Surrey reach 203 5 with five balls
remaining. 

AXA Equity & Law League MIDDLESEX v NORTHANTS: Lord's
Allan Lamb hammered an  unbeaten 65 to  give  Northants  a
win over Middlesex on a faster scoring rate at Lord's.
Middlesex  reached  185  6  in  a  match reduced to 38 overs with
Desmond Haynes top scoring with a useful 67.
But Lamb dominated Northants' reply hitting Richard Johnson for a
six  and  a  four off successive balls to steer his side to their
victory target of 173 6.

AXA Equity & Law League GLAMORGAN v HAMPSHIRE: Swansea
Hugh Morris continued his run filled Sunday season to help  lead-
ers  Glamorgan  to  their 1th consecutive AXA League victory over
Hampshire at Swansea.
Morris hit 81   his seventh score over 50 in 14 Sunday games   to
help  his side reach their victory target of 209 4 with 2.3 overs
remaining.
Robin Smith earlier hit 75  including five sixes and  four  fours
to help Hampshire reach 207 8.
