EDITORIAL

By John Ward

Just our luck! Zimbabwe cricket has spent most of the last few months shooting itself in the foot, and when at last we look like doing things right (albeit against Bangladesh and with no credit to the top-order batsmen) the weather steps in and wipes out the final two days. For Bangladesh it was a landmark, as this was the first Test match (out of six) they have not lost. They will take little satisfaction from it, though, as it was due to intervention by Jupiter Pluvius rather than their own skill. The truth is, though, that they were grossly underprepared for Test cricket, although that was not altogether their fault. [More]

BIOGRAPHY

Andy Flower - updated biography

Andy Flower is perhaps a unique cricketer in the history of Test match cricket. Very few other players have successfully combined the jobs of wicket-keeping and specialist batsman; Andy for most of his career has also been the leading batsman for his country, and in addition has managed to maintain the same high standards while also captaining the side. He has by far the highest batting average, 55, of any regular wicket-keeper in Test match history, and almost all this was achieved while keeping wicket, and much of it while captaining the side as well. Andrew Durham - future star?
by Tristan Holme
As a Zimbabwe cricket fan, one can draw few positives from recent series, where the national side has strung together a long run of losses. However, the rise of young promising players such as Travis Friend, Sean Ervine and Hamilton Masakadza has provided a ray of hope for the future of Zimbabwean cricket.
