Shaun Pollock led South Africa from the front in the tri-
series. He was the victorious captain at the end of the final
match at the Kingsmead in Durban. In a world where nothing
succeeds like success, Pollock ensured that his boys were
always on the task, winning matches. There was a minor hiccup
against India at the Supersport Park in Centurion, South
Africa lost to India by 41 runs. Pollock was the best of the
bowlers picking 5/37, the best bowling of the tri-series too.
The proteas' skipper finished as the top wicket taker claiming
14 wickets at 15.71 apiece and was instrumental in leading his
side to a convincing six-wicket victory in the final.
