Neil Clarkson Johnson was a match winning all rounder who could win a series for Zimbabwe, either with his batting skills or bowling. A tremendous player, lost to non-cricketing reasons, he made his Test debut against India in the one-off Test match in 1998 and dismissed Sachin Tendulkar in both the innings as Zimbabwe beat India by 61 runs. Zimbabwe has been weakened by his departure to neighbouring South Africa.
