The reluctant allrounder. Sourav Ganguly follows in the footsteps of
earlier Indian captains, who kissed their bowling goodbye, or bowled
only under duress, once they took over the burden of leadership.
Perhaps Indian captains consider bowling infra dig or shy away from
the additional responsibility, but Ganguly's recent three-wicket spell
in the Colombo tri-series indicates that he has realized once again the
increased options he is offering himself by bowling a few overs if not
the full quota. After all, he is the Indian version of the man with
the golden arm, isn't he?
