Adam Gilchrist was imperious when Australia began their run
chase. Cuts and drives flowed from his balzing blade as the world
champions galloped towards the modest target. Even the dismissal
of Matthew Hayden for 20, failed to stem the flow of runs, as
Gilchrist went berserk. The only bowler who succeeded in tying
him down was Peter Ongodo. The arrival of leg-spinner Collins
Obuya saw Gilchrist bring up his fifty (off 37 balls) with a four
to point. Two mighty sixes off Obuya followed before Gilchrist
eventually fell to Ongodo after making 67 (43 balls, 9x4, 3x6).
