With the bowlers making up for the disappointing show of the batsmen, India went on to win their opener by 68 runs. The small band of Indian supporters who had made their way to the 9,000- seater stadium at Paarl were understandably happy that their team had gotten off to a winning start and they made every attempt to show it. They would now be hoping that they get to parade similar emotions at the end of the all-important second match against Australia.
