The powerful Queenslander Andy Symonds, and Damien Martyn added 84 valuable runs off 16.3 overs for the fifth wicket partnership, avoiding the possibility of being embarrassed by the lowly Namibians. Symonds thumped the ball hard - hitting two massive sixes, and two boundaries to make 59 off 63 balls. Martyn was not at his fluent best, struggled to get the scorecard moving, making 35 off 50 balls, and was bowled by Kotze. Australia lost their sixth wicket with the score at 231 in the 43rd over.
