It was a do-or-die battle for India and England at Kingsmead in Durban. With the winner almost certain to make the cut for the Super Six, the pressure to perform and win was quite high on both the teams. Early in the afternoon Ganguly won the toss and elected to bat first. India got off to a good start with Tendulkar and Sehwag in cracking form. Tendulkar played a delicious knock, one of those gems that only a master can do. There was one stunning pull shot off the bowling of Caddick that sailed way out of the ground, as Tendulkar raised to his half century – giving India an explosive start.
