2004 Wisden Almanack reviewNorway’s victory in the ECC Trophy in Vienna was the greatest event in the country’s short cricketing history. It was a reward for much hard work and the first step on the road that in 2004 pits Norway against ICC Associate Members such as France and Germany and could (in theory, anyway) take Norway to a place in the 2007 World Cup. At home, it was the busiest year yet, but the increase in quantity did not dilute the quality. The first division winners were Sentrum CC, while Holmlia CC won the second division. We also found several foreign teams anxious to play us. One request for a tour of Norway purported to come from the Nigerian Cricket Association. There were, however, various aspects of the email that made us suspicious. Chief among them was the fact that they wanted to tour Norway in December when there is minimal daylight and the country is usually under several feet of snow. We believe it was an immigration scam.
