LISTEN TO THE PAKISTAN TOUR LIVE ON THE INTERNET AND RADIO PAKISTAN CricInfo to broadcast ball-by-ball commentary in English and Urdu 15 May 2001
CricInfo.com, the world's most popular cricket web site and Sports International have struck a deal to broadcast live ball-by-ball audio commentary on the internet for the Pakistan tour of England. The service, which will include commentary on the npower Test Matches starting at Lord's on Thursday and the NatWest Series next month, will be available exclusively on the internet on www.cricinfo.com and its web sites ecb.co.uk and PCB.cricinfo.com. For the first time, the commentary will also be broadcast on national radio in Pakistan, Radio Pakistan. The commentary will be broadcast in two separate streams: in English with Urdu summaries; and a mixture of both English and Urdu. CricInfo.com will also carry in-depth reports in English and Urdu, live scorecards, text commentary and photography. The commentary team, headed by Ralph Dellor, will provide live ball-by-ball coverage of every day of the npower First Test Match, starting on Thursday, and the Second Test at Old Trafford starting on 31st May. Other commentators include Shahzad Humayun, Hameed Akhtar, Stephen Lamb and Jed Pitman. CricInfo's live audio service first broadcast last season for the Test Series between England and the West Indies and the NatWest Series involving England, the West Indies and Zimbabwe. Coverage continued in November and December with all three Test Matches between England and Pakistan being broadcast on the internet.
