LIVE CRICKET COMMENTARY ON THE INTERNET Follow the NatWest Series live on ECB.co.uk 07 Jun 2001
Cricket fans can listen to live commentary on the internet of their team's progress during this month's NatWest Series involving England, Australia and Pakistan. The whole Series will be broadcast exclusively on ecb.co.uk, the official web site of English cricket powered by CricInfo.com. The first match takes place today at Edgbaston on 7th June, starting at 1430 BST with the final being held at Lord's on June 23rd. Ralph Dellor will head the commentary team. With him for the tournament will be Ray Philips, Shahzad Humayun, Hameed Akhtar, Stephen Lamb and Jed Pitman. CricInfo's live audio service first broadcast last season for the Test Series between England and the West Indies and the NatWest Series involving England, the West Indies and Zimbabwe. Coverage continued with the ICC KnockOut tournament held in Kenya this year and the Test Matches between England and Pakistan in November and December 2000 and May and June 2001. Ralph Dellor, Director of Cricket Operations at CricInfo said: "As hosts to the official web sites for Australia, England and Pakistan, this tournament holds great importance for us. The audio commentary has become an integral part of the CricInfo network and keeps us ahead of our competitors. The audience figures show how popular it's proving to be with our listeners but we'll continue to look for ways to improve and expand the service."
