Chasing a score of 270 was always supposed to be a difficult ask against an English attack led by Matthew Hoggard and Andy Caddick. But Virender Sehwag is an iconoclast. After biding his time for the first five overs, he pounced upon the unsuspecting English bowlers. Sehwag raised his fifty off just 37 balls and his 100 off just 77 balls, as the entire English attack was mercilessly put to the sword. When he fell, the dashing Indian opener had plundered 126 of the most daring runs off just 104 balls with as many as 21 fours and one six, cut over point off Caddick!
