I am sending this e-mail from the United States. Very pleased to know that the Indian women's team could at least get to the semi-finals. Very happy to see them beat England. They now have defeated the English women in three out of the last four ODIs and all of these wins were abroad. I think the Indian women can probably sweep the English women 5-0 or 6-0 at home and perhaps even win test matches. I bet the English women will not survive the crowd pressure in Kanpur!!
However, despite all this, they receive scant attention. The media is more interested in the problems facing men's cricket, specifically legal problems. As far as I know, no women's team from abroad is due to visit India in the near future. Ignoring women's sports is nothing new. It happened until recently, here in the US. I attended Purdue University which has a good women's Basketball team. However, it is only recently have the women received the same attention as men. Now all the networks are carrying Women's Basketball. Perhaps common sense will also prevail back in India.

Well, well England falter again (losing to South Africa and India) by failing to put enough on the scoreboard and to bat out the overs. Anybody see any of the games? We're we really that bad?

Would you perhaps know if any of the ladies world cup matches will be televised and when? Would love to watch. Thanx and regards

The problem in England at the moment with all sports is that as soon as something goes wrong it is noticed and every one starts slaging them of, when instead they can try and back them up by encouraging them. One other thing is why isn't the womens world cup televised at all in England?

I am a die hard fan of cricket, both mens and womens. I had played for my state and university. I don't miss a single match and is the secretary of the women's cricket club in trivandrum. I wish the Indian team all the best and hope that they'll bring home the world cup.

I'm really glad that India is doing great in NZ & i hope they come home with the cup. wishing them GOOD LUCK!!
but i'm really sad to see that there's no TV coverage of the event. ofcourse, channels all over the world are very busy with coverage of match fixing scandals. poor guys, dont have time for better things in sports, i guess.

To Belinda Clark and the Australian team
Keep up with the fantastic results.
This Australian team continues the
tread of whitewashing oppositions who
simply are not qualified to match the
Australians for talent. Congrulations
also to Zoe Goss who bowling spell was
magnificent. You have fought back from
despair. Well done on your comeback.
Is any of the Australain Womens Cricket
team are available to play for the
touring West Indies team. They simply
need some help.
Yours sincerely

Come on, Orangies, let the sun shine in this side of the world as well, and have a kiwi for lunch!

India are playing so well - what a great team. Let's not forget that these ladies do not have all the support and finances that teams like Aus/NZ/ENG get. They play and practice in conditions that other teams would not tolerate and this just shows the dedication and determination they have for their country. True champs!
