Some feel that Cullinan has too many shots for his own good, as he often gets out to shots that should not be played to the type of ball being bowled. He is, however, a pleasure to watch as he strokes textbook shots through the covers for four. He picks the gaps extremely well, and is a very well rounded batsmen. In the field Cullinan is normally in a close catching position - slip or midwicket, and is no slouch there either. He has a very safe pair of hands. Cullinan generally bats at number four and shows outstanding class in the way that he plays fast and medium paced bowlers. He is not as comfortable against spin and may need to be to make a significant impact on the bowling sides that will be present at the World Cup, and has recently shown a lack of concentration after reaching scores of 50. Instead of going on to play an innings of 80 or more he is inclined to get out to silly shots.help@cricinfo.com |
