Kevin Hill named general manager Leicestershire CCC - 29 October 2002
Kevin Hill has been appointed as Leicestershire's new general manager. He takes over with immediate effect from James Whitaker who resigned as secretary/general manager in August. Hill has been at Grace Road for nearly 30 years as administration secretary. He said: "It is a tremendous honour to have been asked to succeed James as the general manager of the club. I have seen many changes during my time with the club, and there are many challenges ahead. "I am looking forward to leading a team off the field which will provide the resources and the environment necessary to achieve success on the field." Leicestershire have also announced that a one-year agreement has been signed with the Ravenstone Partnership Limited whereby Barrie Pierpoint will become actively involved in the club's marketing and commercial department's activities. Hill said: "It is absolutely vital that the club explores every avenue possible to generate the additional income necessary to fulfil our short, medium and long term aspirations. Barrie has a proven track record in this respect and we look forward very much to working with him." Pierpoint is a former marketing manager and chief executive at Leicester City Football Club. © Leicestershire CCC
