Worcestershire release Sheriyar Worcestershire CCC Media Release - 25 October 2002
Worcestershire County Cricket Club and Alamgir Sheriyar have mutually agreed to forego the final year of his contract with the Club and have announced his immediate release.
"Sherri", 29 years old, first played for Worcestershire in 1993 and has taken over 400 1st class wickets in his career.
Tom Moody, Director of Cricket, said of this decision, "Whilst we are sorry to lose Alamgir, he clearly feels his future lies elsewhere and we do not wish to stand in his way at this stage of his career."
