Afghanistan team invited to play in Pakistan domestic cricket
PCB - 19 October 2002

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has accepted the request of Afghanistan to include them in the Cornelius Trophy that begins January 21, 2003. As a gesture of goodwill and in view of PCB's policy of promoting and assisting developing neighbouring countries, the PCB will also provide financial assistance to Afghanistan beside a qualified coach.

Afghanistan also participated in the Quaid-i-Azam Trophy Grade-II Championship last season. The tournament has been renamed as Cornelius Trophy from the 2002-2003 season.
