Australian cricketers to pay tribute to Bali victims
Australian cricket will pay tribute to the victims of last week's Bali bombings by observing moments of silence during international and domestic matches this weekend (19-20 October).
The Australian team, which starts the final Test of its three-match series against Pakistan in Sharjah tomorrow (Saturday 19 October), will stand for two minute's silence ahead of the match.
The players will also wear black arm bands, while the Australian flag at the Sharjah C.A Stadium will fly at half mast.
At home, Queensland Bulls and New South Wales Blues players in the ING Cup match at Brisbane's Gabba on Sunday (20 October), will acknowledge the federal government's call for a nation-wide minute's silence at noon.
Play will stop at the Gabba as close to 1200 as possible.
Earlier in the week, Southern Redbacks and Victorian Bushrangers players taking part in the Pura Cup match at the Adelaide Oval observed a minute's silence prior to the start of the game on Tuesday 15 October.
At club level, several state associations have declared that as a mark of respect, matches within their respective states will observe a minute's silence prior to their commencement over the weekend.
