Somerset are on the look out for new young talent
Richard Walsh - 6 October 2002

Somerset are once again on the hunt for new young talent as the invitations for the district and county trials to be held later this month are being sent out.

Earlier in the year all the schools and clubs across the county have been asked to nominate their most promising players in the Under 12, 13, 14 and 15 year age groups.

As a result of this Somerset Youth Development Officer Pete Sanderson has sent out well over one thousand letters inviting the young players players to attend the trials.

The trials will be held at the four nominated centres across the county: Taunton, Wells, Writhlington School and the Downs School at Wraxall near Bristol.

Pete Sanderson told me: "These trials will be a mixture of players who are known to us and there will also be some new faces. This is a real chance for any new lad to come forward and show us his worth."
