New membership scheme launched
Canterbury Cricket Association - 29 November 2002
Canterbury Cricket's new supporters club was launched this week and looks set to attract huge support.
The new club, known as the Canterbury Cricket Club, is a product of the amalgamation of The First Class Club and Supporters Club, which had been administered by the Association for over four years. The amalgamation sees the combination of over 10 types of memberships from these past schemes into three simple categories - single, double and junior.
Benefits are large and varied and include complimentary tickets to all international and domestic fixtures in Canterbury. The highlight of the package is possibly the hospitality received at State domestic matches, whereby all members receive complimentary finger food and priority viewing from a corporate box. Those who are ex-first-class Canterbury players receive the extra benefit of a free bar at these domestic matches.
Canterbury Cricket Club administrator Emily Travers is excited about the new offer and is already being swamped with applications.
"The response we have had to date has been very positive. People seem to realise the fantastic deal and are keen to take full advantage of these benefits early on."
A special offer to all club members is the substantial discount on Canterbury Cricket's 125th Jubilee Print. The print captures the scene from the Jubilee match held at Hagley Oval in March this year between Canterbury and England. Normal retail on a framed print is $250 but this has been heavily reduced to $150 for club members.
As well as the major features, club membership also includes bi-monthly updates via the Coverpoint newsletter.
Membership costs are $150 single, $250 double and $50 junior.
