West Indies to advertise for new manager, coach Derrick Nicholas - 28 November 2002
The West Indies Cricket Board (WICB), has announced that beginning next month, it will be advertising the positions of both manager and coach of the senior West Indies team. The employment contracts of current West Indies team manager Ricky Skerritt and team coach Roger Harper expire in March next year. In an attempt to ensure continuity in the team management, the West Indies Cricket Board has informed the incumbents of its intention to advertise these posts both regionally and internationally. "We expect to receive a fairly significant response to our recruitment ads," remarked Roger Brathwaite, acting chief executive officer of the WICB. "In light of this, we intend to open the recruitment window from early December this year until January 15 next year." Both Skerritt and Harper have been advised that the WICB would be willing to receive applications for the re-engagement of their services. The WICB will shortly be posting the recruitment notices in regional and international publications as well as on its website www.windiescricket.com. Both Skerritt and Harper were appointed to their posts just prior to the Cable & Wireless 2000 home series against Zimbabwe and Pakistan. © CricInfo
