Seamer Masters signs two year deal
Leicestershire CCC - 27 November 2002

Leicestershire have completed the signing of Kent seamer David Masters. The 24-year-old Chatham-born paceman has agreed a two year deal at Grace Road.

Kevin Hill, Leicestershire's general manager said:"We are delighted to have agreed terms with David, who we believe will add youth, enthusiasm and competitiveness to our bowling attack.

"We feel that with the opportunites he will have at Leicestershire he will be able to fulfil his undoubted potential. We look forward to a long and happy association with David and wish him every success at Leicestershire.

"With the signings we are making we are putting together a squad that will have a good mix of youth and experience with every player competing for a place in the first team. We are keen that the only name that goes down on the team sheet automatically is that of the captain, Phil DeFreitas."

Masters, who impressed at Grace Road last season when he took seven wickets in the match in Kent's victory over Leicestershire, said: "I'm thrilled to have been given the opportunity of playing for Leicestershire and I am determined to help them continue to enjoy success in the future."

Masters, who made his Kent debut in 2000, is Leicestershire's sixth signing of the close season, and the club is also closing in on two overseas targets for next summer.
