Davis named in State Auckland Aces side to meet ND
Auckland Cricket Association - 27 November 2002
Heath Davis will celebrate his 31st birthday on Saturday in style after today being recalled to don his whites for the State Auckland Aces.
Davis, who has 200 first-class wickets, has been included in the first Auckland Aces State Championship team, set to start a four-day game against the Northern Knights on Friday.
Aces coach Mark O'Donnell said Davis had been included on the back of some strong performances for Cornwall in Auckland club cricket.
Davis' inclusion is one of two changes to the 12 which played against the Knights in a warm-up game last week. He replaces paceman Gareth Shaw who has been struggling to overcome a hip strain.
The other change sees another Cornwall player, all-rounder Richard Morgan, come into the squad after Black Cap Andre Adams was suspended.
The full State Auckland Aces side to play the Knights at Gisborne's Harry Barker Reserve, from Friday 29 November through to Monday 2 December is:
Brooke Walker (captain)
Tama Canning
Heath Davis
Matt Horne
Rob Nicol
Tim McIntosh
Kyle Mills
Richard Morgan
Craig Pryor
Mark Richardson
Lou Vincent
Reece Young
