State Auckland Aces deal first State Championship hand
Auckland Cricket Association - 20 November 2002
The State Auckland Aces side which rattled up 373 in a warm-up game at Eden Park this week has been retained for the team's first three State Championship matches.
All-rounder Tama Canning will be looking to recapture his form from Tuesday's game against Northern Districts where he hit 105 in a partnership of 175 with young left-hander Tim McIntosh (77).
Cornwall medium pacer Richard Morgan and young batsman Rob Lynch have also been included in the squad of 14.
The first of the three State Championship matches is against the State Northern Knights, starting Friday, November 29 at Gisborne. The squad to travel to the Harry Barker Reserve will be trimmed to 12 following this weekend's round of club cricket play-offs.
The other matches are against the State Wellington Firebirds at Eden Park's Outer Oval, and in Blenheim against the State Central Stags.
