Local cricket on the screens Western Australia Cricket Association - 14 November 2002
The Western Australian Cricket Association is pleased to announce that an agreement has been signed with TMP Worldwide Advertising and Communications, to produce coverage of 25 days of the domestic cricket season. The coverage will be shown on local community television station, Access 31. Coverage continues with the big Pura Cup clash between the Western Warriors and Victorian Bushrangers. This match features a rare chance for sports fans to witness a domestic first-class clash with international superstars Adam Gilchrist, Shane Warne, Damien Martyn and Justin Langer. The Australian Cricket Board brought forward by one day this week's full round of Pura Cup four-day fixtures around the nation to allow Test players to play for their states. TMP will telecast Pura Cup games from 1.30pm to 6pm on each day's play in Pura Cup games and the first innings (2.30pm to 6pm) in ING limited-overs matches. State Director of TMP Worldwide Advertising and Communications David Morrison, said his company was excited to be bringing the Western Warriors back into WA lounge rooms. "We are delighted to forge this relationship with the WACA. This announcement confirms TMP's commitment to bringing local programming back to WA TV screens and is a natural progression from our production of the state's only local sports program, `The Locker Room'," Mr Morrison said. The TMP telecast is hosted by Mr Tom Tapping with an array of local cricket identities, including veteran cricket writer Ken Casellas, leading Warriors players and local celebrities regularly joining the telecast. © 2002 Western Australian Cricket Association
