Vienna CC, Austria's oldest cricket club, and organiser of the annual Vienna CC Wintercup has announced that the 2003 Wintercup will be held over the weekend of 7-9 March 2003. The tournament became an international affair in 1992, and the competition has since seen teams from across Europe (from England, Greece, France and the Czech Republic) participating in the six-a-side tournament. Previous winners include Farsley CC, Pudsey Congs CC and Madisons CC, all of whom won the tournament after winning the ECB indoor title.

The competition is unique in many ways, with many high calibre players having taken part, including Simon Ecclestone (ex Somerset CCC), James Foster (current England reserve wicket-keeper) and Jeremy Snape (England ODI Squad member).
