India name 17-man squad for World Cup for the Blind Staff Reporter - 5 November 2002
India have named a 17-man squad for the Second World Cup for the Blind which is due to start at Chennai on December 4. Seven other stand-byes have also been named. The hosts will launch their challenge for the Trophy when they take on England in the second match of the tournament. The ten-day long tournament features five other teams - Australia, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, South Africa and Bangladesh. South Africa are the defending champions, having defeated Pakistan to win the first World Cup which was held in New Delhi in 1998.
