Dilshan and Vandort to Captain Sri Lanka `A' and Development Squad
BCCSL - 8 May 2002

The Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports has approved the appointment by the BCCSL's National Selection Committee of Tillekeratne Dilshan as Captain of the Sri Lanka `A' team, and Michael Vandort as Captain of the BCCSL Development Squad, for the India `A' team's tour of Sri Lanka in May and June 2002.

The BCCSL has appointed former national players Graham Labrooy and Ruwan Kalpage as Manager and Coach respectively of the Sri Lanka `A' team for this tour.

Labrooy served as Manager for the Sri Lanka `A' team's last tour, which was last month's ICC Six-Nations' Challenge Tournament in Namibia. Kalpage is the National Coach in charge of Fielding at the BCCSL.

India `A' open their tour on Saturday the 11th of May with a 3-day warm-up match versus the BCCSL Development Squad at the R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium, before taking on Sri Lanka `A' in three Unofficial Test Matches and three Unofficial One-Day-Internationals. (BCCSL Media Release)
