The Chairman PCB, Lt. General Tauqir Zia has congratulated captain Waqar Younis and each member of the Pakistan squad on their thumping win. He also lauded the magnificent individual performances, notably from Inzamam-ul-Haq, Shoaib Akhtar, Danish Kaneria and Imran Nazir in the first Test against New Zealand. "The collective team effort has resulted in Pakistan achieving their greatest ever victory, by a huge margin of an innings and 324 runs, which incidentally is the fifth biggest by any nation in the history of cricket. This makes it a landmark achievement of Waqar and his charges," said a delighted Tauqir Zia. "Inzamam's was a great innings and Shoaib once again revealed the great potential he possessed while Kaneria and Nazir's performance also reflected the immense progress of youngsters. But what makes me most happy is that it was a total team effort. I am also glad that we have broken our victory draught at the Gaddafi - We are winning here after about 12 years," said the Chairman, PCB.
He had a word of praise for skipper for creating the much-needed team spirit and sense of unity among the boys which has started showing results. "Keep it up, We shall keenly look forward to your progress with each outing in the future", said Tauqir Zia.
