Somerset supporters will be heartened by the news that fast bowler Steffan Jones is back in training. The Welshman, who was the leading overall wicket taker last season, has been missing from the team since injuring a ham string whilst bowling against Sussex at Hove last week in the opening match of the season. Steffan told me: "I'm back doing my normal training now. Over the last couple of days I've improved a lot and have started jogging. I will hopefully be back for the match next week against county champions Yorkshire, if I'm selected." It is ironic that Steffan, who is one of the fittest players on the staff, is the one who has suffered the most injury in early season. I am sure that all Cidermen supporters are looking forward to Steffan's return to full fitness and to hopefully seeing him back in the attack to face Yorkshire in the first home championship match of the season next Wednesday. © SOMERSET
