PCB holds high level meetings
Pakistan Cricket Board - 29 May 2002
A series of high level meetings were chaired at PCB Headquarters, Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore by Chairman PCB, Lt, General Tauqir Zia, which took up important matters pertaining to the proposed new domestic structure for the year 2002-2003, the operation of the Regional Academies at Karachi, Muridke, Rawalpindi and Peshawar besides considering cost-cutting measurers within the board.
The format of the domestic structure for season 2002-2003, was presented by the Chairman Cricket Management Committee, Mr. Iqbal Qasim. The main thrust of the proposed new system was improving the quality of first-class cricket in the country and yet affording reasonable opportunity for the grade II players to show their mettle. The proposal is being further refined by the Cricket Management Committee and will be finalized in due course. It also took into a account the suggestions given to the PCB by the Seminar held earlier on May 4, in which former cricket luminaries participated.
The steps to reduce the running cost of PCB were also considered at the meeting.
