Oliver to join Tasmania
Victorian Cricket Association - 28 May 2002
Bushrangers all-rounder, Ben Oliver today informed the Victorian Cricket Association (VCA) of his intention to join the Tasmanian Tigers for the 2002/03 season.
VCA Chief Executive Officer, Ken Jacobs said that he accepted Oliver's resignation with regret. "Ben Oliver is a fine young man and a player with obvious potential. He has his reasons for wishing to move to Tasmania and after many discussions with us, it was with great regret that we accepted his resignation today".
Oliver is expected to move to Tasmania in approximately four weeks time, where he will attempt to kick start a promising career stalled by surgery to correct a severe osteitis pubis condition. He will be linking up with former Bushrangers Assistant Coach, Brian McFadyen who was recently appointed to the Tigers state coaching position.
