Somerset Chief delighted with Caddick milestone
SOMERSET - 30 March 2002

Somerset Chief Executive Peter Anderson was at the County Ground this morning attending the highly successful Junior Sabres Bash.

I asked for his thoughts on hearing the news that Somerset bowler Andy Caddick had got four more victims on the first day of the third Test match against New Zealand. He told me: "200 wickets is a milestone that will please Andrew, and everybody at Somerset is delighted for him."

"Personally I think that Andy will go on and get many many more wickets, even though he talks about retiring after the World Cup in 2003. Any England selector who wishes that this will happen must be mad!"

"It was interesting to note that in the last Test when Hoggard got seven wickets people were ready to write Caddick off, but Andrew being Andrew he got one more than Hoggard in the match, and now he has added another four."

"Ask any batsman who they would rather face, Caddick or Hoggard? I think that we all know what the answer to that question is."
