ACC holds Cricket Management and Administrator Course Pakistan Cricket Board - 11 March 2002
A 4-day Cricket Management and Administration Course under the auspices of Asian Cricket Council, started with an impressive ceremony at a local hotel here today. The main purpose of his course is to provide exposure and training to cricket administrators in developing countries of Asia to organize cricket on modern professional lines in their respective countries. This is the first time that such a courses has been organized by the Asian Cricket Council for leading cricket administrators this region under the ACC Development Program. Mr. Zakir Hussain Syed, Secretary, ACC, in his introductory remarks, explained the philosophy behind this course and its main objectives. Mr. Lan Stuart, ICC Development Manager for Europe, and the Course Director briefly spot lighted the main target of this Program including the requirement of ability to deliver in modern cricket establishments. The Course was inaugurated by Mr. Kushil Gunasekera, who is Secretary of Interim Committee of the BCCSL and one of the most respected cricket organizers in Sri Lanka. He informed the delegates how the Cricket Management in Sri Lanka had been able to achieve unprecedented success in the form of record 9 successive test victories. He also explained the operational methodology of Cricket Administration in Sri Lanka. The Cricket Management and Administration Course is being attended by a record number of delegates from 10-countries. The closing ceremony of this course will take place on 14th March 2002 at 1500 hrs. Brig. Munawar Ahmed Rana, Director, Pakistan Cricket Board, will be the Chief Guest at the closing ceremony.
