Dawn ACC holds management course
12 March 2002

A four-day cricket management and administration course under the auspices of Asian Cricket Council started at a local hotel Monday. Except India, nine other Asian countries including Pakistan are participating in the course.

Ian Stuart, the ICC Development Manager for Europe and the course director briefly spotlighted the main targets of this programme including the requirement of ability to deliver in modern cricket establishments.

The course was inaugurated by Kushil Gunasekera, who is secretary of the interim committee of the Board of Control of Cricket in Sri Lanka. He informed the delegates how the cricket management in Sri Lanka had been able to achieve unprecedented success in the form of record nine successive test victories. He also explained the operational methodology of cricket administration in Sri Lanka.
