The Australian Cricket Board (ACB) today announced a change of date for the 2001-02 Pura Cup Final.
The ACB in conjunction with the three state associations still eligible to host the Pura Cup Final, agreed to shift the match from its original starting date of Wednesday 20 March, to a new start date of Friday 22 March.
The following are starting times, should the Final be hosted by one of the following three state associations.
ACB General Manager of Cricket Operations Richard Watson said the change in date would give players and administrators a longer period of time to prepare for the Final.
"After consultation with stakeholders, including the relevant state associations and media partners, we felt that by moving the match back two days, we were giving players a longer rest period between the last round of preliminary matches and the Pura Cup Final," Mr Watson said.
"Given that three states are still in contention to host the Final, this decision will ensure that whoever wins the right to host the match has extra time to prepare adequately for it," he said.
The Pura Cup Final is a five-day match, with a reserve day scheduled for Wednesday 27 March.
