Ilford festival is saved Media Release - 6 March 2002
The future of the Ilford Cricket Festival for this year has been safeguarded thanks to financial support from the Redbridge Council. Following their Council meeting yesterday, approval has been given for financial support for the next two years. The Club have been making a significant loss in the past few years at this Festival but, thanks to the generous support from the Council, First Class cricket (which has been played at Valentine's Park since 1923) will be allowed to continue. Chief Executive David East commented: "We thank the Redbridge Council for their backing and are delighted that we are able to continue at the venue which has become part of the Club's heritage".
