Teams for Christchurch Suburban representative fixtures named
Canterbury Cricket Association - 1 March 2002

The Canterbury Cricket Association has selected the following players for the two annual representative fixtures with the Christchurch Suburban Cricket Association on Sunday 3 March.

Both fixtures will be hosted by the Suburban Cricket Association, with the Christchurch Metropolitan Second Grade Representative side playing the Suburban Emerging Players at Redwood Park, and the Christchurch Metropolitan Presidents side playing their Suburban counterparts at Edgar McIntosh Park. The start times and match formats are 50 overs and 11am, and 40 overs and 12pm respectively.

Bert Walker, co-selector of the Christchurch Metropolitan 2nd grade side commented, "We're confident we've got a strong and balanced team, which we'll need as both the previous matches have been very close and competitive games - last year's match went to the last possible ball. I'm sure that Sunday's match will be another enjoyable one and it's a very worthwhile exercise, as it gives the top players in 2nd grade something to aspire to, and of course ensures a healthy respect and closer ties with the Suburban players."

Paul Case from the Suburban Cricket Association commented that "we have gone for experience in our selection to play the CCA in the 2nd grade match at Redwood Park. The extra bounce of the pitch will give the likes of Zwies, McNoe, Chatterton and Patterson an extra edge. With a strong slow bowling back-up, this part of our game is our strength."
