Somerset acting captain Mike Burns will be looking to keep his winning run going when the Cidermen travel to Edgbaston to take on Warwickshire in the county championship on Wednesday. The former Warwickshire all rounder was in charge when Somerset beat Leicestershire in the NUL at Bath , and was also at the helm when they recorded their historic victory over Sri Lanka last week, and is relishing the prospect of going back to his old stamping ground. He told me: "Things are going all right for us at the moment, and we are playing some good stuff. We haven't had the best of luck with the weather in the championship, but we are unbeaten in our 5 games and will be going to Edgbaston to get a result." He continued: "It's always good to go back to where I started my first class career back in 1991, and it would be nice for me to go up there and get some runs and a win for Somerset." With Jamie Cox missing and Steffan Jones back to full fitness the Somerset side is likely to be: Matt Wood, Peter Bowler, Piran Holloway, Mike Burns, Keith Parsons, Ian Blackwell, Rob Turner, Keith Dutch, Richard Johnson, Matt Bulbeck and Steffan Jones. This season, whilst they have just won the last Benson and Hedges Cup and are riding high in the NUL, Warwickshire have not found their form in the county championship, and are anchored near the bottom of the table. Although only two places above their opponents, Somerset have been unlucky not to get victories from at least three of their drawn matches, and will be hoping to earn maximum points from their trip to the midlands. © SOMERSET
