VWCA appoints head coach

The VWCA today announced that Ken Davis has been appointed head coach of the Victorian Spirit Team for season 2002/03.
Davis, who has over 30 years involvement at the elite cricket level in Australia, said he was looking forward to the challenge ahead. "I'm very excited at the talent I've seen in women's cricket and its development in this State. I'll be working extremely hard with the players to ensure the Spirit have every chance of achieving success in the coming season".
Dr Julie Savage, President of the VWCA, said she was pleased with the appointment and believes that Davis' skills and experience will prove invaluable to Victorian Women's cricket. "Ken's record speaks for itself and the VWCA feel extremely fortunate to have secured someone of his talent. I'm sure his contribution to the development of women's cricket in Victoria will be a substantial and successful one".
KEN DAVIS: BIOGRAPHY
- VCA Regional Cricket Manager;
- Level 3 Cricket Coach;
- Former VCA player with Essendon University and Geelong Cricket Club;
- Coach Geelong Cricket Club for over 10 years;
- Qualified Sports Psychologist;
- Worked with Geelong and Richmond Football Clubs as a Sports Psychology consultant.
